DIRECTIONS FOR INVISALIGN

INVISALIGN INSTRUCTIONS

• Trays must be worn at least 22 hours each day with no more than 40 minutes out. If trays are worn less than 22 hours each day, movement will not occur as projected.

• Each set of trays is to be worn for a period of two weeks.
Prior to reaching the last set of trays, schedule an appointment with our office to pick up more trays as we are currently booked out 2-3 weeks for appointments.

• You can drink anything with trays in.
Drinking beverages with sugar is still not recommended, but if you do then rinse your mouth well with water afterwards.

• You cannot eat with trays in.

• Keep up with good oral hygiene so the trays do not become traps for cavities.

• To keep Invisalign trays clean, soak them in a cup of hydrogen peroxide.
Hydrogen peroxide is also what will prevent trays from staining.

• When the trays are removed from your mouth, place them in their protective case immediately because replacing lost or broken trays is $100 per arch.

• When putting in a new tray, always switch at night before going to bed.
Most of the movement happens within the first 6-8 hours that trays are in.
Switching trays at night allows this movement to take place without interruptions.

• Save the previous set of trays.
This set is to be kept in its numbered Invisalign baggie/box.
Saving the previous set is important because if something does happen to the tray you are currently in, you have a set of trays to fall back on since the next tray up may not fit yet.
